Since we did not need a park ticket to visit Downtown Disney, we saved this part of Disney World for the day we left. I had yet to find a souvenir shirt/jacket that I was hoping to bring home. And the largest Disney Store in the world was located there. We packed up the car and checked out of our resort before heading to the stores.
Parking was really difficult. It took 20 minutes of driving to finally find an open space. We almost gave up. Fortunately, we found a really cute set of plastic Disney princesses for Molly, which she still loves to play with. Unfortunately, I never found a clothing item that caught my interest. Everything was really cheesy or too loud for me.
It was then that our trip officially ended. As we were walking out of the store, Molly threw up onto my shoulder and the floor. The cast members were phenomenal, keeping others away from the mess and getting it cleaned up in record time. I was pretty humiliated and was rest assured by several cast members that it actually happened quite frequently. After getting changed in the car, we continued the trip home.
It only got worse from there. Molly threw up again about 2 hours later while we were stuck in a traffic detour somewhere around I-95. If only we had known then what was in store.
All three of us had picked up a violent stomach virus while at the park. We're suspecting it happened on the motor coaches. Molly showed symptoms first because of her young age. Her 1st birthday party back at home that Saturday was a total bust. I called all of my friends with kids and warned them to stay away. All the other guests dropped by to give her gifts and then left quickly. That Sunday night, Mom, Dad, Mlou, Mark and I all spent the entire night with stomach virus symptoms. It was absolutely brutal. A most definitely unwanted souvenir for sure!
I'm thankful that we did have such a good time at Disney World. I'm disappointed that the end was such a nightmare. And I'm hoping that it will not happen again in the future! It turns out that stomach virus was hitting the entire country, including Nebraska at New Years. Mark's family members were dropping like flies, while the three of us stayed completely fine. In that regard, I'm very thankful! I'm really looking forward to the next trip to Disney when Molly is older and possibly has a future sibling to share it with!

I think Molly also gave her Aunt Erin and Aunt Melody this unwanted souvenir during our Christmas visit. She's so cute I'll forgive her :)
